Psychological Aspects of Education
The Psychological Aspects of Education is one of the six fields of study supported by the Nova Scotia PhD Program in Educational Studies.
The field of study that explores the psychological aspects of education includes school psychology, educational psychology, and educational counselling.
Scholars who investigate the psychological aspects of education concern themselves with the many aspects of human development and learning addressed by psychologists and counsellors who work in schools, higher education institutions, child guidance contexts, and the wider community.
Doctoral students in this field of study explore the theoretical advances in human development, psychological assessment, learning, personality, counselling, and mental illness. They may also be intrigued with approaches to cognitive sciences (the study of mind and intelligence) and with learning sciences.
